The South Korean giant Kakao, which owns the messenger of the same name, is preparing to launch its own cryptocurrency wallet Klip.
“The Klip wallet has already launched an advertising site, and the application itself should appear in the second half of this year,” an official representative of the company told News1 Korea.
It is reported that the program is being developed by the Kakao blockchain division called Ground X. The wallet will support the Klay messenger token, as well as other cryptocurrencies created on the Klaytn blockchain. Recall that the main network of this blockchain was launched at the end of June.
The news was also confirmed by the company HintChain, which created a blockchain market for food products.
“Today, the advertising website of Kakao’s Klip cryptocurrency wallet was launched, and we are pleased to announce that we are a partner service for a new product,” the company said in a statement.
Interestingly, according to the representatives of Kakao, the Klaytn blockchain is 15 times faster than the Ethereum blockchain. If blocks are created every 15 seconds in the Ethereum network, then they are mined every second in the Klaytn blockchain.
